Interstate vs Intrastate
Interstate trucking is when your truck goes over state lines. Intrastate trucking is when your truck only delivers freight in one state and does not cross state lines. So for all the trucks that run interstate you will need an MC Authority before you can get your IRP plates.
The second important requirement to be aware of is the need to have a physical office in the state where you want to have your base IRP jurisdiction. This means if you have California IRP plates then you will have to show proof of office in California.
